Sminu "Sim" Peter received his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from the University of North Texas and went on to receive his law degree from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law (now Texas A&M School of Law). Prior to co-founding the law firm of Peter & Lanzillo, PLLC, Sim earned the rank of Senior Associate at Stanley & Associates, PLLC, a multi-office law firm in Dallas. It was here that he met his current law partner, Johnny Lanzillo, and the two worked side by side in the courtroom on numerous cases.Sim served as practice chair of the firm's lucrative criminal defense section, handling hundreds of cases at a time involving various State and Federal criminal offenses. In addition, he served as head of the firm's Hiring Committee, founding member of the Leadership Committee, and was Supervising Attorney to all attorney staff.
In addition to his extensive knowledge of the criminal system, Sim also has experience handling many Family Law matters such as Divorce, Child Custody, Child Support, and Adoption issues. He has also represented many clients in Civil Litigation, for Personal Injury cases, and in preparing their Wills and other Estate Planning matters.

While the majority of his practice involves State cases, he has also handled multiple Federal cases in both the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas.
As a former Dallas County approved criminal defense attorney, Sim received special appointments directly from the county to represent indigent defendants facing criminal charges that couldn't afford to hire representation. He now serves as a Collin County approved criminal defense attorney representing the indigent defendants of Plano, Allen, McKinney, Frisco, and other surrounding cities. As a member of the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program, he has helped many indigent clients navigate the waters in their family law matters. Additionally, he serves as chief legal counsel to Cloud Crash Pads, a company specializing in temporary living spaces for flight attendant personnel, as well as chief legal counsel to Peace Tree Africa, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that exists to promote sustainable development in Cameroon, West Africa.
